Right now im just ready to get out of this packed truck. Both kids are laying on my shoulders and I'm feeling quite carsick due to the bounding and swerving of being in the backseat.....Well, more to come from our trip soon.

Slacker

That is SOOO what I am. It has been exactly a month since I have posted anything on here. A lot has happened in a month, but nothing to interesting. I gave my talk. PIECE OF CAKE...LOL. Well, a piece of cake would have been a lot better. I truly worked myself up for nothing. I know all the prayers spoken helped me a lot. I know what to expect and I will happily do it again when asked. Now, I hope no one from my bishopric sees this...LOL.. I doubt that. Easter was yesterday. Saturday our ward had a breakfast and an egg hunt which was really fun, especially for the kids. Sunday was a nice day. Sacrament meeting started off weird. Some guy comes in right when the deacons are walking to the front of the chapel and he started preaching something. I dont even know what he was saying. A bunch of men got up and escorted him out of the building. That definitely caused the spirit not to be as strong. Then I had the Easter lesson for our "Mia-hive" class, which was ALMOST a disaster. Thankfully things turned out and they really enjoyed it. I finally did a so-called photo shoot with the kids. It wasn't too long since they arent quite used to posing. I really want to get better at taking pictures of them and capturing their sweetness while its still here! Wednesday we are going to Seaside, near Monterey and I am so glad to get away for a few days. We all deserve it! I will have to write all about it when I get back, and definitely take lots of pictures!!

What a day today was! Its just so fun trying to get out the door to church on time, especially since we are going 30 minutes earlier than last year. It was a lovely sacrament meeting. The kids were pretty well behaved for the entire meeting.
I actually over came a huge hurdle today and I am so proud of myself. In the whole (almost)6 years I have been a member, I have never given a prayer in front of a group larger than 10, or given a talk in sacrament meeting. Today was the day! I was asked to give the opening prayer in Gospel Doctrine. I went through the whole sweaty hands, heart racing, butterflies....everything! But, once that little 30 second prayer was over with, I knew I could do it. It felt amazing. And THEN, after GD class, I was heading for the YW room, and was stopped by a member of the bishopric asking if I could speak in 2 weeks. Of course, I said I would, but I did not have that horrible nervous feeling I had before. I truly feel it was inspired of Sister Stephens to ask me to pray so I could be prepared and calm to receive the assignment to give a talk. I don't know anyone who has made it 6 years without speaking or praying, but I'm really glad I have this opportunity to share my testimony with my ward, and to get over my fear of public speaking. I even took a college class in PS, but that sure didn't help. Anyways, I'm just ready for these 2 weeks to be over with!

Happy Day!

I can already tell that I am going to be one of those who posts a blog like once a week, if that. Its just so hard for me to sit at the computer and think of all the things that I want to say. Then, I will probably remember something I should have written, and by the time I get back to the computer, I forget to write it. That's pretty much how my life is! Before I forget (lol) my blog is named from a line in Michael Buble's song, Everything. My absolute favorite. I have it downloaded to the computer and also as my ring tone. My kids actually know all of the chorus...Its so cute to hear them sing that. They also love LOVE Alicia Keys, No one. I have to blast the radio in the car when it comes on. So, my main point of my blog today is about genealogy. With me being the first member of the church in my whole entire family, it puts a lot on me to get every one's work done. Details of this is in my own personal journal, but I had this very strong impression to just get my grandfather's work done. I had no idea where to start, but finally went to the Family History Center. I had no idea how easy it was to submit names, especially since its all done online. So I did just that. But not only my grandfather. I did him, all his brothers and sisters, his mom and dad, his dad's dad and his aunts and uncles. That's 20 names so far and I have a lot more. With this program, the names are open for any temple to receive them and do the work. So some of my great aunts and uncles were done in Ohio, Arizona, and Canada. I just find it so amazing that my grandpa AND great-grandpa was baptized on the very same day in the same temple, which happens to be the temple I always attend in Oakland. I am so grateful that I had the confirmation once I knew the work had been done that they accepted it! Such a peace came over me. I truly wasn't expecting to be so emotional but I was. Only if I could have that feeling with me always. At least I am learning more how to recognize it. Sorry, to myself since I'm probably the only one reading this, that it is so long. If there is anyone out there reading this, what were some of your experiences with genealogy, LDS or not?

February 20, 2008

I have finally made it to the blogging world. There are so many wonderful blogs I read almost every day and decided to create my own! Just for those who happen to come across my page, I shall share a few things about myself. I am a soon-to-be divorced mom of 2. Sean is almost 6 and Mackenzie is 4. I live in Denair, California but I am originally from Madison, North Carolina. We have been in Ca for almost 6 years now. I love it out here, but I sure miss my family and friends. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I joined July 7th, 2002. I am going to school to earn my AA in child development wanting to be a preschool teacher soon. I was going to school for my nursing degree, but decided to put that on hold for a couple of years. Blogging is great for me since it is such a more convenient way of journaling, which I really try to write in every once in a while. . I hope to have pics up soon. I hope to make some new friends and possibly find some old ones! Feel free to leave any comments!
